* Commemorates the anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto (1836), which allowed Texas to access to independence. General Sam Houston, commander in chief of the Texan Army, had camped out by the San Jacinto River, waiting for his chance to attack General Santa Anna. General Santa Anna was taken prisoner and forced to sign a treaty.
