Culture : Guru Gobind Singh (22 December 1666 – 7 October 1708) was the tenth Guru of Sikhism. He was born in Patna, Bihar in India and became a Guru on 11 November 1675, at the age of nine years, succeeding his father Guru Tegh Bahadur. He was the leader of the Sikh faith, a warrior, a poet, and a philosopher. In the Sikh society, Guru Gobind Singh is considered a perfect example of manhood; highly educated, skilled in horsemanship, armed combat, chivalrous, and generous in character.

Culture : Bechtelistag Frauenfeld: Berchtold's Day marks a custom which dates back to the Middle Ages. Shortly after the town of Frauenfeld was founded in the middle of the thirteenth century, nobles and members of the higher classes of society started to socialise regularly. They called themselves the Constables' Association . In 1430 another association was formed by tradesmen, who named themselves Zum wilden Mann ( The Savage Man ) and also ran their own drinking establishment. In 1640 the two associations combined into one, creating a new association which owned goods, granted loans and collected interest. Culture : Hussain was a disciple of Sheikh Bahlol Daryai Chinioti. Following his master’s advice, he studied mysticism and spent 12 years in penance at the shrine of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh. Like all Sufis, he was a nonconformist and did not believe in ritualism but direct communion with the Almighty. He even shaved off his beard and moustache. Hussain’s love for a Brahmin boy called Madhu or Madhu Lal is famous, and they are often referred together as Madhu Lal Hussain. Madhu’s tomb lies next to Hussain’s in the shrine.
